Our charming family home is located in the village of West Falmouth off Route 28A on the bayside of Cape Cod. Built circa 1787, the house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been in our family for the past 70 years.
Tastefully decorated and lovingly maintained, our traditional Cape "cottage" retains its old world charm and accommodates contemporary comforts.
Most of the living space is on the first floor: kitchen, dining room, living room, main bath (with tub), updated master bedroom, newly renovated master bathroom (with shower), and two single twin bedrooms. Beyond the kitchen is a back hallway with a separate office space and laundry area, as well as a back door leading to the outside shower. Just outside the kitchen and main entrance hallway is a fenced-in courtyard. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms, each with two twin beds.
Everything in the quaint village of West Falmouth is within walking distance from the house: the small neighborhood market, ice-cream shop, breakfast café, harbor, library, playground and public tennis courts. Chappaquoit Beach, with its gentle waves, white sand, and sunsets on Buzzards Bay, is an easy ten minute walk. Just around the corner is access to the Shining Sea Bikeway which offers great views of inlets, cranberry bogs, ponds and marsh wildlife, as well as direct bike routes to Falmouth and the bustling town of Woods Hole, home to the Martha's Vineyard ferry and the Oceanographic Institute.
